POWER WASHING SERVICE
SPRING CLEAN UP:
Spring clean up is one of the first services of
the season to be performed, taking place the
later part of March to the first part of May.
Clean up is performed one time with a
second touch up, if required, at the time of
the first mowing (providing the client is
contracted for mowing). Lawn areas and
planting beds will be cleaned of leaves and
other winter debris in the spring. All debris
and leaves will be hauled away. The lawn is
also vacuumed where ever needed if
possible.
LAWN MOWING:
Prior to mowing, the turf areas will be policed
for trash, tree limbs or obstructions. Turf will
be completely and evenly mowed at a height
most suitable for the species and the site's
specific needs. In areas we cannot reach
with the lawn mower we will string trim the
turf to the height of the adjacent turf. We do
not bag grass clippings. Turf-grass research
shows that by using proper mowers, it is
better to return clippings to the turf for
nutritional replenishment. This process is
called grass recycling and it's a tremendous
help to our environment. We also sharpen
our mower blades regularly, double-cut, blow
off lawns with excessively thick, long
clippings and mow the turf regularly at the
proper height. Height is determined by
several factors, including the following: (1)
type of grass, (2) thatch thickness, (3) soil
type condition, (4) fertilization and watering
program, (5) turf use, (6) shade/sun
conditions, and (7) time of the year (spring,
summer, fall,). Our mowing schedule
consists of April through part of November,
as required. May through September mowing
is performed weekly, as needed. October
mowing is performed every 9-12 days, as
needed (this is adequate as growth slows
down.) EDGING: We will edge concrete
borders such as walkways, curbs and
driveways
FALL CLEAN UP:
Involves the removal of leaves, sticks, litter,
etc. from the lawn areas, as required, during ,
October and November. This service is
usually performed in conjunction with
mowing (provided the client is contracted for
our mowing service.) A light clean up of bed
and shrub areas occurs in November,
usually after the majority of the leaves have
fallen. If the leaves are excessive, two bed
clean-ups may take place. Fall clean-up
schedule is as follows: October every 9-12
days, as needed (lawn/bed areas). Final
clean ups (our last visit) begins in November.
Maximum of twice (lawn and/or bed areas).
This schedule coincides with mowing
requirements, allows for most leaves to fall,
allows us adequate time to service all
clients, keeps the sites looking as good as
possible under the fall conditions as they are
and enables us to clean up the majority of
leaves before the snow arrives.

CORE AERIFICATION:
Compacted soils are most common on clay
soils and in areas where traffic is frequent or
heavy. Compaction problems are best
reduced by having us core-aerify your lawn.
Core aerification is the mechanical removal
of plugs of soil and thatch. The ideal soil
moisture for coring is damp, not soaked or
dry. For best results, drought stressed lawns
should be irrigated prior to coring.
Furthermore, most lawns should be irrigated
shortly after aerification to ensure adequate
moisture for grass plants that have had roots
severed in the coring operation, as well as to
prevent ends of roots from drying out as air
enters the coring holes. Once core-cultivated,
your lawn will be dotted with little plugs we
have pulled from the soil. These plugs may
be somewhat unattractive; however, within
several weeks the plugs disappear into the
lawn. The soil portion of the plugs
intermingles with the thatch in your lawn
helping to decompose it and help prevent
further thatch build up. We recommend your
lawn be core-cultivated a minimum of once
per season in the spring or fall. Lawns with
severe compaction and heavy thatch should
be cultivated a minimum of twice per season.
Note: Recent studies and reports that coring
after a pre-emergent crabgrass control has
been applied in no way reduced the
effectiveness of the pre-emergent unless the
cores are removed from the lawn. Note: prior
to coring, all objects or obstructions (cable,
wires, lines sprinklers, pipes, etc.) hidden at
the ground surface or buried less than 4"
below the surface must be marked with a
flag, stick or some other appropriate item.
This is to prevent damage to such items, as
well as to our equipment
